Very sad news. Was hoping he was on the mend.
So sad, my first P-Funk shows were in the early/mid 90s and Amp was the main keyboardist in that era and was absolutely phenomenal at those shows. His solo music was fantastic also, RIP to a very gifted player.
That is so sad.
Heartbroken. Fly on, Amp…
rest in peace.
This is a tough one. I went up to him back about 1994. I was singing the chorus to Blackout. He did not know me from Adam and his eyes lit way up. He was excited I knew his stuff and talked to me like he had known me his whole life. Over the next 2-3 years I’d holla at him whenever PF was in town.
This cat was a genius. I’m talking Bernie Worrellesque.
I was hurt. One of the nicest guys I ever met
Yes. That really messed me up bro.
Anyone remember the “If I Don’t” music video by Amp Fiddler with Corinne Bailey Rae? It had a Star Wars Cantina vibe. It’s wild.
Jeez… only 65
I did not see this coming. I know I don’t come around here as often as I used to, but I am surprised it took me 29 days to find out.
Not enough clarinets in music.
