Mothership Connected: The Women of P-Funk

Whilst the Board was down, Mallia Franklin’s son, Seth Niblett, posted on Instagram and Facebook that he has just signed a publishing deal for a forthcoming book about the women of Parliament / Funkadelic / Parlet / The Brides… Seth knows his stuff, this should be excellent… :sunglasses:

That’s great news! He’s been working on that for a while. :slightly_smiling_face:

It has been a while. I remember it being discussed in the last One Nation Board Room, around 2014 or so.

Just a refresher/teaser for the (hopefully) upcoming book…

Yes! It’s about time! Woohoo!

I was hoping some of the interview footage would end up being edited into a documentary. Perhaps that’s still a possibility. But quite a bit of time has passed. I’ll take whatever I can get.

From what I’ve read, the book highlights the roles of Mallia Franklin, Lynn Mabry, Dawn Silva, Debbie Wright, and Shirley Hayden. What about Sheila Horne, Jeanette McGruder, Jeanette Washington and Janice Evans? Just wondering…

Good point since it was written by the son of Mallia Franklin; I think it’s more about his mother and her gang… additionally it’s an oral history book, so maybe he hasn’t access to reliable interviews about that particular members… Belita and Kendra comes also to my mind… :dizzy: :sparkling_heart: :sparkles: :rocket:

Anyway… can 't wait to read about these heavyweights of funk… :hugs: :man_lifting_weights: :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

That makes sense, and I’m sure the book was written with good intentions…I just hope no one feels slighted.

Belita, Kendra…Jessica, Diane Brooks, Taka, Leslyn Bailey…

More than enough for a second volume…nudge nudge…wink wink

Seth said that he interviewed Belita for the book. I would really like to see Diane Brooks and Leslyn Bailey in it.
