The Parliaments - Unreleased Doo Wop Record (?) Patreon

I just checked the new track released for the Patreon followers “60 minute man”.
When were those untechnoed versions recorded? and does anybody know how the rest of the album sounds like? frankly that new release is ok to check but nowhere close to what i expect to get from p-funk. i’m aware of the roots and barbershop but when i want to listen to do wop i prefer to stick to some original recordings. in the mail by patreon is written that famous members of the p-funk mob were included during recording that album. hm. I keep my fingers crossed and hope to receive more music where “parliament-funkadelic” is more hearable.

Welcome @spitty !

The Techno Doo-Wop / New-Wop / Re-Bop was discussed in another post, which there are a few released songs or clips linked there if you want to hear more.

It could have been recorded anywhere from the early 90s into the early 2000s. It’s likely to be more-so niche material, like from the Family Series releases.

Danny called that unreleased album “Don’t Techno for an answer”.

It was recorded in 99-00.

Rudi Robinson (famous Detroit keyboard session player) did a lot of the music

George, Ray, Fuzzy, Calvin, Grady and Sidney Barnes all over this stuff

Hmm. Is this where that snippet called “Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie” off the Cachophonic After The Smoke Clears album came from?

I’m also thinking of Goodnight Sweetheart off How Late?

Correct on both assumptions my friend.

Well, sort of. Clip produced gimme gimme gimme for George and the rest of the parliaments around the same time as the album in question. however it’s not definite whether that was going to necessarily go on said album; in the end, as we know, it ended up on the cacophonic album but they are cut around the same time albeit a different series of sessions and in a different geographical region with other involved people (Lige, etc)

With respect to goodnight sweetheart, this is the version before they added all the techno stuff to it a la the how late version.

Thanks for clearing that up Danny.
