Rhino Reserve all analog cut of Stretchin Out In Bootsy’s Rubber Band

Stretchin’ Out

Rhino is doing a Rhino Reserve cut of Stretchin Out! Comes out in July and pre orders are up now. Should also be in record stores when released. So stoked!!! The version of Eddie Hazel’s album turned out perfect in my opinion.

The instrumental version of Physical Love on Games, Dames and Guitar Thangs sounds great! I was hoping they would do all of the Rubber Band and Bootsy albums they have the rights to based off of what I’ve heard so far. They’ve also done great versions of 3 Otis Redding albums in this series that I have and love.

Read that this release is listed as “Bootsy Collins” on the labels and spine. Why would they do that? That really annoys me. I suppose it’s the sound quality that’s interesting with this release, but still.. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Mine is on the way so I haven’t seen it yet. That’s what Discogs says, artist listed as Bootsy Collins. Strange. I do see it listed like that on streaming as well. I wonder if it’s a rights thing with the name Rubber Band or something.

That unnerves me often. As time goes by, the artist of the music changes. Example. I recently competed in a name that tune game at a social outing. They robbed me over the song Summertime. I told them the artist was DJ jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince and was told I missed it. It is now by Will Smith alone. The same thing has happened to a lot of the the Bootsy’s Rubber Band stuff. It’s now by just Bootsy Collins. It’s crazy how history itself changes facts.

What?! That’s ridiculous. Even on Spotify it shows as Dj Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

Hahaha that’s crazy, you should have gotten that point @OooBooBeeDoop!

Listened to it last night. Sounds better than my original pressing to me! Bass is fat yet well defined. Vocals feel a little clearer. Great pressing! Only complaint was calling it a Bootsy solo album and there was an issue with shipping. You might want to pick this one up from an actual record store to avoid what happened to me. Corner is totally bent but it doesn’t affect my vinyl so I’m not too worried since I have multiple copies of this album. Fingers crossed for more Bootsy/P-Funk in this series. I think the label have access to anything on Warners.

Ha! They changed it back. This happened about a year ago and at that time I had went to Spotify to prove him wrong and to my surprise and sure enough it said Will Smith. Nutty stuff for sure.
