Is this real? I mean it sounds like it’s probably an alternate take but this being 2025 it could be AI or a recreation perhaps?
I would love more info on the providence of this, the one thing that seems weird to me is the guitar solo as it doesn’t sound like Mike (or Eddie really) and it’s too flashy for Garry so who would of done this in late 77?

Hmm dunno. Sounds like someone remixed it and added to it. I don’t think it is from the actual time of the album but much later. Could stand corrected of course. That does sound like Skeet. Someone may have enhanced certain instruments in a way you can hear them better.

Reason I reached out to Jeanette is because it occurred to me that this could be the original version before Malia joined. Malia talked in Seth’s interview about how Parlet already had songs cut as a duo (Jeanette and Debbie). I don’t hear Malia’s voice on this version so maybe?

Glenn? That would have been my guess.
Danny’s book has Garry, Billy and Glenn as the guitarists on that album- mostly Garry.
It’s Garry listed on PP (along with Skeet).
Interesting that the clarinet is relegated to about a three second minor footnote…unless I missed a bit. And by interesting I mean disappointing

OK, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but according to Skeet, this is straight up AI. He’s said that they did Pleasure Principle pretty much in one take. There are no alternate takes. But damn, AI is a mother f****r! That s**t sounded so organic.
