Drummer on Good To Your Earhole?

Was peeping Funknstuff excellent interview with Stevie Salas. Stevie sez during the Hardware sessions somebody mentioned they should do a version of this. So they played it. And Buddy was having trouble getting the drum licks. Apparently exasperated, he threw his hands up in defeat. Laswell, who was at the helm then said you aught to know this man, hell, YOU are the drummer on the original.
WTF!?!?!?
I said maybe they got it confused with Comin’ Round The Mountain, or not?

The drummer on that track (along with Stuffs and Thangs) is Barry Frost who was from the band Leon’s Creation. Those sessions were done in L.A. with Eddie, George, and probably Bernie. I think George even mentions it in his book. Reggie Mcbride is the bass player on those two tracks also I believe.

Yes thanks for clearing that up. I think I heard that somewhere’s along the way. It’s fascinating. Laswell and them must have been thinking about the Hardcore Jollies track. I can see how they would have made the mistake, both lead off tracks and all.

Great stuff , I love Laswell , Had anyone heard Third rail live with Bigfoot on drums replacing Zigaboo ? Also Giant Shirley - Detrimental Vasoline deserves mention , I’m just not a huge fan of Buddy’s singing , for me that was the one drawback

There are at least two official live releases by Third Rail with Bigfoot:
https://billlaswell.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-san-francisco
https://billlaswell.bandcamp.com/album/the-north-sea-jazz-festival
However, they are exclusive to members of Bill Laswells subscription service at Bandcamp.

There’s also another show with Ronald Shannon Jackson on drums:

Additionally there’s an (I believe) unofficial recording of a Third Rail show at Bimbo’s in San Francisco July 26, 1997 with Bill Laswell, James Blood Ulmer, Bernie Worrell, Amina Claudine Myers and Jerome Brailey
