Does anybody know who played the guitar solo

On Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis enema squad? Around 7:25 into the song?

Garrett Shider told me it was his father Garry but when I asked Michael Hampton he said he played it?

Don’t know, but according to Danny’s book it’s Garry on that track.

I personally think it’s Mike because it sounds a lot like he’s using the ARP Avatar guitar synth on it which used a lot during this time.

Oh wow, great ear. That’s exactly what Mike had told me.

Theyre both right. Garry played lead on the track and Mike was overdubbed in on the solo i think

Yes, by sound, I’m pretty confident Mike comes in at 3:20, and in the subsequent solos throughout the song. On the instrumental version, you can hear Garry’s lead a little better throughout the song, with Mike coming in at that 3:20 mark and you hear both guitars playing solo at that point.
And Mike’s on the Avatar throughout.

Is it the ARP Avatar guitar synth that’s used on “Never Buy Texas From a Cowboy” soloing?

Yes, however, that’s apparently Bruce Nazarian playing lead on that song.

Ah, thanks. I think I did check in Danny’s book, but I keep forgetting who did what, just so much talent across the P-Funk board, hard to keep track.

The tone and the playing is fantastic.

Bruce definitely plays guitar & bass on the track but I’m sure Mike plays the solo – on the Avatar. He’s on the track per Danny’s book (& the track sheet that was circulating once upon a time). Also way back when in the old P-Funk Board Room somebody from the inside – can’t remember who – stated the solo was Kidd.

On NBT Its Mike Hampton on the avatar/solo. Bruce Nazarian is on the guitar intro and guitar parts throughout as well too.
