Since I started talking about Catfish in a thread about an album he’s not on, I thought I’d create a thread for the man himself , so ye could bring all your Catfish stories/internet goodies here to me in one easy thread🤘
So liiiiiiiiiink me uppppppa

Here’s a great video clip with Boots and Catfish from the session where this picture was taken. By Norman Seeff.
Amazing. Thank you Boatman
ha! love that interview
One of the few songs where Catfish sings. Some might find the song a little cheesy…not me, I love it. Funky nostalgia is the only nostalgia worth having and Gary’s vocals are top. ![]()
Gives me goosebumps that one. A very funky eulogy.
Been playing JBs all day - and this one, in particular.
Seems to be a fairly reliable source for timelines as to what Catfish - and Bootsy played on before the P.
Hank Ballard : Vocals
Don Martin : Drums
William Collins : Bass
Phelps Collins : Guitar
Clayton Garnell(sic?) : Piano
Robert McCallum : Tenor Sax
Unreleased gem that came out in Feb.
Bootsy, Catfish, Chicken, McCullough and Hassan; with Bobby Byrd, funky drummer Clyde Stubblefield…and of course JB (he’s still the man)
