Looking through the tracklist, several of the tracks have slightly different names between the back cover, inside cover, and metadata.

“Prize Fight” also appears as “Prizefight”
“Mo Dog Sit” also appears as "Mo’Dogz S*it and “More Dogs Sit”
“The Egg” also appears as “No Egg”
“You Make Me Feel So Good” also appears as just “You Make Me Feel”
And this one’s not really different but in the metadata, most of the tracks are punctuated normally but “KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE” is in all caps for some reason.

Mo Dogs*it and No Egg are basically just skits tho (or whatever you wanna call 'em).

Got my copy today and 3 listens later i’m pretty impressed - it feels like the P. The album is described in the inlay as ‘A Labour of Love’ and sonically it sounds like it - and that’s what counts, right? And personally i’d take the CD (packaging quality issues aside) over a digital copy any day of the week but whatever your preferance, check it out.

Is it not a CDr? I thought I knew how to tell the difference but maybe I don’t… sorry if I spoke out of turn haha

It definitely looks like a CD-R. :slightly_smiling_face:

And it also got the same matrix number, T80-UG-6 19081405, as tons of CD-R releases on discogs. The matrix number is on the back, pretty hard to see.

It’s a CD-R. But that’s ok. It’s an indie release so good on WeFunk for selling hard media at all. That’s a rarity these days for an independent release. :metal:t4::metal:t4:

Pretty Girl is a great, too - despite its rubbish ending - and in an alternative world i’d be listening to the extended remix… so much to enjoy off the album, new appreciation of The Wake earlier this afternoon. And ‘Slave’, such a tantalisingly funky taster of a track…

It’s now on discogs.

shit, did that take a long time.

https://www.discogs.com/release/32930256-420-Funk-Mob-The-Emperor-Has-No-Clones

My submission notes:

new artists: Chogyl “Karma” Marco, Rachel Sun Moon, Theresa Rose, Nik Tub, Iwan T. Payne, Joonsuk de Back, The Boxman (they don’t show up on any release currently existing on discogs)
Bobbie Burke MIGHT be son of Robert Chicken Burke. will fix if necessary (i currently have it as an ANV of Robert Chicken Burke)
might not be the correct Bianca Boom, will fix if necessary (i chose the established Bianca Boom who is a recent artist but has no connection to the funk mob)
The Boxman may just be an ANV of Man In the Box.

I’d love it if someone could confirm/verify any of these details.

Also, a great deal of names on this album were of lesser-known contributors who appear to exist and generally appear to have an existing connection to p-funk projects. Shane Kirsch, Eric Rohner, Gilles Garin, Robert Mandell, Ted Orr, Shaunna Hall, Hamid Saidju, Kim Manning, and Iwan Van Amersfoort. In these cases I selected the artist who already existed on discogs and appeared to be the correct one. Each of these are worth a second look from someone else who knows more than me.

I assume Clip Payne is a fan of Iwan and named his kid after him. I also assume Lew Worrell has some connection to Bernie.

edit: just added keyboards, production, engineer, etc. more notes added:

added more credits. new artists: Marty McFleek, Shafi T. Payne.

not certain that this is the correct Michael Johnson as executive producer. Same with Digital Dave & Karl Berger. will be updating as I get more info.

Great work! I was just about to do it myself, but you beat me to it.

I will have a closer look tomorrow, but here’s some notes.

  • Joonsuk de Back is Junseok Kim, here’s his ig.
  • I believe Nik Tub is the artist Niktus (that played with the group FFF).
  • Yeah, my guess was also that The Boxman was just an ANV for Man In the Box.
  • I thought Bobbie Burke was Robert Chicken Burke, but dunno.
  • Law Worrell is not related to Bernie. :slightly_smiling_face:
  • I think we need a new PAN for Michael Johnson since we don’t know who he is, like Michael Johnson (96).

any idea, with a name that common, how to easily determine which is the lowest unused PAN for him? (edit: I see 96 was in fact the correct number to use and not just an example)

made some updates based on your feedback. Lots to go though.
