> Does anyone know any more about this Laswell release: EXCAVATION Unauthorized Cut-Up Vol 2 Is this official? I’ve never come across George’s ‘Shine’ before, is this exclusive to this release?

Shine is from 1997.

The lyrics is actually from an old toast, like a traditional oral poem. It appears in a book from 1974 (that’s full of misogyny) called _Get Your Ass in the Water and Swim Like Me_. In 1976 it was also released as [an album with the same name](https://www.discogs.com/release/3069844-Various-Collected-By-Bruce-Jackson-Get-Your-Ass-In-The-Water-And-Swim-Like-Me-Narrative-Poetry-From-).
